This is one fourth of a polyptych that was created for an exhibition that included a pair of samurai swords. Initially, I had looked at the space for the exhibit and decided that I wanted the swords moved from the exhibition space. Before telling the owners of the space, I was driving home thinking about how I would deal with the situation. I went to my gallery and looked at the canvases that i had purchased for the space. I ended up sleeping at the gallery after working very later on another piece. When I awoke, I had a terrible feeling. I thought how arrogant I was being considering all of the work that went into the creationg of the swords, It inspired me to create this polyptych to compliment the space and give homage to the creators of the swords.
