Power Play

This piece is a powerful reminder of the heart and soul that goes into the creation of my abstract work. Throughout the creation of this piece, I remember thinking of it as a battle. The casual observer can neither understand nor appreciate the amount of work and soul that goes into a piece that starts as nothing but a vague idea of what one wishes the result to be and the journey that one must take to arrive at that result. I find it similar to writing a story. Hemingway wrote, in his acceptance piece to the Nobel committee, “A writer’s life is a lonely life, he goes so far out that no one can bring him back. This piece lived in my mind for the entirety of the month in which I was creating it. It followed me everywhere I went and left me in state of emptiness whenever I would leave it. I kept pretending and intending to have the upper hand as it fought me, this is how it became entitled “Power Play”. PEACE
